Mosin-Nagant $125-$300The Mosin–Nagant is a bolt-action, internal magazine-fed, military rifle, developed by the Imperial Russian Army in 1882–1891, and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. These guns are getting harder to find but are still out there for $125-$300
Steyr-Mannlicher M95 $100-$175Steyr-Mannlicher M1895 rifle is a bolt-action rifle that used a refined version of his revolutionary straight-pull action. It was initially adopted and employed by the Austro-Hungarian Army throughout World War I, and retained post-war by both the Austrian and Hungarian armies. Numbers of these rifles also saw use in World War II, particularly by second line, reservist, and partisan units in Romania, Yugoslavia, Italy and to lesser degree, Germany.
The M1895 is unusual in employing a straight-pull bolt action, as opposed to the more common rotating bolt-handle of other rifles. It consequently renowned for combining a highrate of fire with reliability and sturdiness, although this requires decent care and maintenance with an extractor that is vulnerable to breakage due to a lack of primary extraction. |
Husqvarna Model 20 sxs $125-$300Husqvarna started making guns in 1689 and though they don’t make firearms anymore they are still in business. Their older SXS shotguns, mostly model 20’s can still be found very reasonably. Though they feature the shorter 2 ½” chamber popular in the early part of last century the fit, finish, and quality of workmanship is far above anything else in the price range and rivals new guns five times the price.
Nagant M1895 $125-$150The Nagant M1895 Revolver is a seven-shot, revolver chambered for a proprietary cartridge, 7.62x38R, and featured an unusual "gas-seal" system, in which the cylinder moved forward when the gun was cocked, to close the gap between the cylinder and the barrel, providing a boost to the muzzle velocity of the fired projectile and allowing the weapon to be suppressed (an unusual ability for a revolver). These are fun guns to shoot and fit and finish is better than what you would expect for a Russian piece.
